As it is Inauguration day I've been seeing many comments on how glorious things will be now that we have a new President. Because apparently many people see this man as the second coming he hinted at being.
BUT ANYWAYS...
After seeing so many praises I came across one that sort of...brought things to a head for me. It was a picture from North Carolina that showed the ground covered in snow. It was partly titled 'Inauguration Day Miracle'. Okay....
FINE, that's just FINE. I'm going to give another take on this 'miracle'. Normally, winter is considered the death of the year. Snow is like the ultimate representation of winter. Hence, this is not a miracle...this is an ill omen. This symbolizes nothing but ill fortune in the coming 4-8 years. We are all going to die.
THERE, I've said it! I've sent the grouchy, sour, rotten lemons to frolic amongst the happy, sweet, fresh gumdrops! If he does well, fine...I'll be pleased...amazed, but pleased. If things go down the crapper...well, I'll still be pleased. Mainly because I can be a vindictive little bitch and say 'I told you so' until I die.
Edit: I am not a well person. I'm so filled with rage. On the positive it keeps me warm and tingly! On the negative...well, that's someone else's problem.

Well, this past December 26th wasn't all that fun. My laptop became infested with something and when I tried to remove whatever it was my laptop 'crashed'. At least I assume that's what it's called when the only thing that happens when I turn it on is a black screen that I can move the pointer around on.
SO, I take it to Best Buy. I request a data backup, a reinstallation of my OS (rebooting), installation of Kaspersky and the removal of anything McAfee (which confirms my friend's opinions on McAfee being crap because it didn't do more to prevent the problem). Pretty much to bring my computer back from the living dead, which cost me ~$300-$350.
My laptop was gone for several days, but lo...I eventually got a call saying it was ready. I went and picked it up and took it home. It turned on beautifully and I was able to reinstall Painter X as well as NWN, NWN 2 and update them. Once I was done I picked up the back up disk they so kindly burned for me and put it in my CD drive.
Wow, was I surprised...I had requested that 'My Documents' folder be backed up...but what I find is just a bunch of worthless folders that have nothing to do with anything I requested being backed up. Considering I had some drawings I was working on for quite some time I went into hysterics upon this discovery. Then I got pissed off and called Geek Squad who assisted me and told me to take my laptop back to Best Buy and get data recovery done for free. I later found out that the machine at Best Buy they use for backing up data had malfunctioned and screwed with about half a dozen to a dozen other people's data backup.
To make a long story short (too late I know) I took it back to Best Buy where they refunded the data backup cost plus the cost of installing Kaspersky and began the process of data recovery for free. Which they are still doing because they can't recover the files I want. Today they've said they can't find the files and will send it to Atlanta where they have a data recovery unit/department. Which is still no guarantee for getting my files back and I will be lacking my laptop for 2-4 more weeks. Fun, fun, fun!
The only good thing to come out of this is that I got some of my money back...and in a way they're compensating me for the time I spent on my art files by doing all this data recovery for free. Though if they hadn't screwed up in the first place they wouldn't have to do this now. All I can say is that I better get my laptop back safe and sound or there will be much rage to go around.

Washington state...you shame us all. Yes, you SHAME us all.
Christine Gregoire (D), the governor of Washington state gave permission for an atheist group to place a large board next to the nativity scene displayed in their state capitol. If you disapprove of such pc decisions you can contact her at (360) 902-4111. And please be courteous when doing so, we're not democrats after all.
So anyways, on to the meat of my latest rant!
I am not an overly religious person, but I do believe in a higher power...specifically known as God.
As such, I am rather offended by a group that supposedly does not believe in any religion using rules regarding religious displays to get their propaganda displayed. At the end of their little billboard, they have this written.
"Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds"
Now I don't know about anyone else, but to me this just sounds like they're trying to shove their 'beliefs' down my throat. Hey...wait a minute...let me get this straight.... You're trying to...hmm...wait, I've got it.... OH, I see! You're doing the exact same obnoxious thing that the religions you hate so much do! Wow!
Good grief. These people and their hypocrisy make me sick. Stop preaching your beliefs to me, you're not supposed to have them anyways. Oh I'm sorry, I should rephrase that. Stop preaching your lack of religious beliefs to me. Ugh...makes me twitch about as much as a televangelist would.
I'm really tired of having my traditions and beliefs beaten to death with political correctness. Yes, I believe everyone has the right to believe what they want to believe, this is supposed to be land of the free after all...but I don't think that I have to sacrifice what I believe to accommodate everyone else. Last I checked, majority still won out. If that was not true, then McCain would be president elect now instead of Obama. The majority of the United States is Judeo-Christian, as such we have a predominance of Judeo-Christian phrases, holidays and traditions. Do these other religions have inferiority complexes to the point they believe saying 'Merry Christmas' diminishes them? One would think so because they freak out whenever someone says it. And why are we tip toeing around them anyways!? It's like we're ashamed to believe what we believe in! They've got us freaking out about saying it too! And in that aspect, they've won and we don't have balls anymore. We're a bunch of oversensitive weenies now.
I guess in the end what I'm trying to say is this. Stop trying to make my holiday a generic waste of space! And Merry Christmas, damn it!

I'm posting this because of my concern for the artist community. What this bill does would harm the artist's rights over all of their past, present and future works. If you want to know more and do something about it, please follow this link.
This bill bothers me because it would make it that much easier for people to steal an artist's copyrighted work for their own use. AND with this bill, make it easier for them to get away with it as well as make it near impossible for the artist to do anything about the theft. So please, all I ask is that you take a look at the information the link shows and if you also dislike what the bill will do then e-mail your congressional representative and let them know not to pass this bill.

Hmm, it's happening again. I'm getting paranoid again. I know I like guys (mmm, yum yum yum) but I always have that fear that my friendships are being misinterpreted as though I like girls. Which is NEVER going to happen (in any way, shape or form). Ick, no! Yes, I admit I am a bit phobic about female homosexuals. Don't hate them or anything but they do make me a little nervous.
I suppose it's my lack of that thing known as a 'boyfriend' that makes me worry about how others perceive my interests. Although that's another thing that bothers me. In this day and age, why is it that if two girls are best friends other people look at them as though they are lesbians? That bothers and disturbs me. It makes me uncomfortable when the assumption is made. It also irritates me when someone assumes I'm not straight. I guess because I just hate assumptions about me. Those bother me, especially when they're assumptions on personal stuff like sexual orientation.
It probably bothers me so much because I'm one of those people who likes having a large bubble of personal space around me. I don't like it when I'm touched without permission (emotionally and physically) and I'm uncomfortable showing my 'softer' emotions. Hence, I'm worried about how my actions and intentions are perceived towards others. Heh, I have my own set of special psychosis to deal with. In the end, just because I'm a tomboy doesn't mean I'm also a dike. I like guys and that's not going to change for anyone. So get this, a best friend is just that. A best friend...no matter what gender they are. Quit making assumptions people!
